Slip Resistance Assessment

We provide slip resistance assessment for new and existing walkways, stairways and ramps.

Our assessment is conducted using methods and guidance contained in Australian standards AS4586, AS4663 and HB198.  We have a range of testing equipment including British Pendulums, Tortus II, light meters, luminance meters, and British XL testers.

Many permanently damaging occurrences are related to people slipping and falling, or nearly falling, while walking.  Falls and near falls will be reduced by ensuring that the slip resistance of your access systems are compatible with the tasks people are conducting and providing them with the best opportunity to safely negotiate the access system.

Our assessment is based on the investigation of thousands of incidents involving slips and falls on access systems and an in-depth understanding of the ‘slip and fall’ phenomena.  We understand the limitations of the codes and standards and can advise you when to go beyond compliance to effectively manage slips and falls on your access systems.

We can provide a slip test certificate to the relevant standard or a comprehensive assessment of your walking surface with recommendations for improvement.

We are happy to discuss your specific access system assessment needs and accommodate your requirements where we can.
